Shahab Balamchi
Fifteen years behind the camera. Seven of them inside clinics.

I’m Shahab Balamchi, a clinic filmmaker. For seven years I’ve filmed the beauty and health practices people trust with their faces — 40+ clinics across Canada, the United States, Spain and the UAE. I make the film that shows how your clinic feels. My team at Divan Group turns it into everything else.I started in videography and photography, founded Divan Group in Toronto in 2015, and somewhere around the fortieth clinic realised that filming medical and aesthetic practices had become its own craft — with its own light, its own rules about consent, and its own way of making a room feel safe on screen. Cinematic Clinic is that craft, under my own name.
I work in English and Persian, which matters more than it sounds: many of the clinic owners I film in Toronto, Dubai and Los Angeles plan in one language and publish in the other. I shoot on cinema-grade mirrorless cameras, light for skin rather than for rooms, and I would rather turn the fluorescents off and wait for the window than fake it.

Cinematic Clinic and Divan Group
Cinematic Clinic is my personal film practice; Divan Group is the studio I founded and still run. The relationship is simple and deliberately transparent: I shoot every clinic film personally, and the Divan team — editors, colourists, designers, ads and SEO specialists — produces it and carries the clinic forward after delivery with monthly content, advertising and reporting.
Every Cinematic Clinic film ends with the same credit: A Divan Group production. If a clinic wants the film alone, it gets the film alone. If it wants the system that keeps the film working, that is what Divan is for.
How I work
An operator, not a guru. I make no promises about numbers I do not control. I talk about light, skin, rooms and consent, because those are the things that decide whether a clinic film is any good. I answer every message myself, and I say no to projects that are not clinics — this practice only works because it is narrow.
